Choose a metric and a refresh interval

A live panel keeps a value visible on the page without requiring you to ask the same question repeatedly. Start on the dashboard or report that contains the metric. Tell the assistant which value to track, where it appears, and how often you want it refreshed.

A clear request names the reporting period and unit as well as the metric. For example, this month's revenue in USD is more precise than revenue. Choose an interval that is useful for your task and appropriate for the website.

Let the assistant identify a readable source

The assistant can inspect the data requests made by the page to find the source behind a chart or metric. If a suitable endpoint is accessible, the panel can refresh from that source rather than repeat a screenshot-based interpretation.

Some sites provide data only through a WebSocket stream or an inaccessible service. A usable live panel is not guaranteed on every site. If the source cannot be reached, the assistant should explain the limitation instead of displaying invented data.

Review what the panel will access

A panel refreshes only the sources approved when it is created. If it needs a source on another site, you are asked to approve that site by name. Review the metric, source, and interval before leaving the panel running.

  • Confirm that the metric uses the intended filters and date range.
  • Check whether the source requires your existing signed-in session.
  • Use a refresh interval that matches how often the underlying data changes.
  • Compare the first refreshed value with the original dashboard.

Understand when updates stop

The panel stops when you close it or leave the page. It is a tool for the tab you are using, not a background monitoring service that keeps running after you leave.

Refresh ticks are not sent to the language model. The refreshed values are rendered locally in the page. Questions you ask the assistant are still billed according to the selected model and token usage.
