Use the assistant to fill fields and navigate a page

Describe the action and its stopping point

Sidelight AI Assistant can click controls, fill fields, and wait for content to load. It uses the page you have open and your existing session. Tell it the exact task and whether you want it to stop before a final action.

For example, ask it to fill a draft form and leave it unsubmitted. If you want a change saved or submitted, request that specific action. The assistant does not take a destructive or state-changing action unless you have asked for it.

Provide the information it needs

Name the fields and the values to enter, or identify where on the page the values can be found. Do not expect the assistant to infer a missing address, select an account without context, or choose between similar records without instructions.

• State which record, form, or page section the task applies to.
• Provide values for required fields and explain any selection criteria.
• Say when to stop for review.
• Review the result before authorizing a submission or other final action.

Use it for bounded, repeatable tasks

Useful tasks include applying a set of filters, entering details into a draft, and navigating to a particular report. Keep each request narrow enough that you can confirm what changed.

The extension works with packaged page tools, so it does not depend on downloading and executing generated code. A site's own controls, access restrictions, and page structure still determine which actions are possible.

Keep control of your accounts

The assistant operates with your permissions on the website. It does not provide access to another person's account or bypass the site's access rules. The extension does not ask for, fill, or transmit your passwords.

Check the destination, recipient, amounts, and field values before a consequential action. If the assistant cannot identify the right control or complete the task, ask it to describe the limitation so you can finish that step yourself.
