You scroll through a product directory, more cards appear, and the list never fits into one selection. Copying the page picks up only some results or mixes prices with descriptions. To turn that list into useful spreadsheet rows, you need to collect records as the website loads them, then check what was actually captured.

Sidelight AI Assistant can attempt this from the page you have open. Start with named fields and a small scrolling limit. A checked sample helps you decide whether the workflow fits that particular list before you collect a larger set.

Understand how the list loads

Scroll once and watch the results. New items may appear automatically, require a “Load more” button, or sit inside a panel with its own scrollbar. Describe that behavior in your request so the assistant has a clear target.

Some lists also remove earlier items from the page structure as you move. This is called virtualization: the interface keeps only a portion of a long list rendered at once. The web.dev explanation of virtualized lists describes how that window moves. Reaching the bottom and then extracting everything can therefore miss records that disappeared earlier. Collection may still be incomplete even when scrolling succeeds.

Collect a bounded sample in five steps

1. Set filters before collecting

Choose the category, date range, region, or other filters on the website. If the list offers sorting, select a reasonably stable order for your task. Changing the filters halfway through can mix different searches in one file.

Also look for a built-in export. If it provides the required fields and scope, use it. A browser extraction is useful when you need selected information from the visible list and the available download does not fit.

2. Choose columns that identify each record

For products, start with name, displayed price, currency, and source link. Keep installment amounts separate from total prices. Ask for missing values to remain empty rather than be estimated.

A product URL or identifier helps distinguish similar names. It also makes duplicate checks more useful: two items with the same title may be different sizes, variants, or sellers.

If manually copying each card is slowing the task down, try Sidelight AI Assistant on the list you are already browsing. Describe the columns and limit the first run before asking for a file.

3. Ask for collection during scrolling

Open the assistant on the list page in Chrome or Edge. Identify the results area and give a concrete limit, such as five scrolls. For example:

Extract product name, displayed price, currency, and source link from this list. Start with the items currently loaded, then scroll up to five times and collect the records you can read along the way. Leave missing values empty. Report the number of rows obtained and any limitations, then save the result as CSV.

This defines the requested effort without claiming the entire directory will fit within it. If the list uses a button or a separate scrolling panel, change the instruction accordingly.

4. Check continuity and coverage

Find a record from the beginning of the list and another that appeared after scrolling. Confirm that names, prices, and links stayed together. Look for repeated identifiers and unexpected gaps.

Compare the result with the scope requested. Five scrolls may cover only a small portion of a search. If the website shows a total, that number describes the search, while the CSV row count describes the records obtained. Ask which part of the list was processed and keep partial results clearly identified.

5. Import the CSV with suitable column types

In Excel, use the text/CSV import when you need control over delimiters and column types. Preserve identifiers with leading zeros and check dates, decimals, and currency labels. Microsoft's text and CSV import guide explains the import choices. In Google Sheets, import into a separate sheet before combining the rows with an existing report.

Frequently asked questions

The list stopped growing. Did extraction finish? Not necessarily. Wait for loading, check for a button, and confirm which area scrolls. A stalled request or a virtualized view can look like the end. Use a smaller filtered search if coverage remains uncertain.

Will the CSV keep receiving new items? No. It records the extraction performed. A later version of the list needs another extraction; this workflow does not create a spreadsheet synchronization.

Does the assistant process everything locally? Required page content is sent to a model. Review the privacy policy before using sensitive data.

The website table export guide covers field selection and file checks in more detail. Try Sidelight AI Assistant with a small scrolling sample, verify the records, and expand the scope only when the result fits your task.
